Looks like all three of these players will enter the 2009 NFL Draft. This shouldn’t really come as a surprise.

The National Football Post | Sources: Wells, Crabtree, Maclin to Declare.

"Trusted sources close to the National Football Post have just informed me that Texas Tech wide receiver Michael Crabtree, Ohio State running back Beanie Wells and Missouri wide receiver Jeremy Maclin all intend to declare for the 2009 NFL Draft in the very near future."

Personally, I would LOVE to see Crabtree in a Chiefs uniform, but it doesn’t really make sense for the Chiefs to draft him at No. 3; we have greater needs.

So what do you guys think? Any of these players you would like to see in a Chiefs uniform?

You are coorect. Jeremy Maclin has already declared, I believe Beanie Well just did as well and Michael Crabtree (with extremely reliable sources inteact) will declare eligibility for the draft at the start of next week.

Crabtree would be a monster pick for the KC Chiefs. Why? He's probably the best prospect WR to come out of the draft since Keyshawn Johnson, except he's bigger, stronger, has better hands and runs better routes. When y picking 3rd in the NFL draft your always going to have multiple needs, if not you wouldn't be drafting so high. They could always go QB with Bradford or Stafford, but I think Stafford is inconsistent and overrated and Bradford I believe will be t first pick ofhe draft. By the way....he looked very human against a tough defense last nght. I'm not sure how that effects his draft stock.

To many people's surprise, Tyler Thigpen actually had a promising year. Brodie Croyle has had injury problems, but his future is also up in the air. I don't think with those two quarterbacks you need to desperately grab one with the 3rd pick in the draft and as we all know, so many diamonds in the rough come after day 1.

They could also go Michael Oher or Andre Smith but it starts becoming a joke to me how 2-3 offensive linemen ALWAYS go in the top ten. I don't believe Andre Smith or Michael Oher make the Chiefs a playoff team....but i'll tell you who potentially can. Michael Crabtree. Tony Gonzalez is what...34 years old now? He's slowly deceleratng. Don't laugh now, but the following Chiefs WR corps looks as follows: Mark Bradley, Dwayne Bowe, Devard Darling, Kevin Robinson (who?), Will Franklin and another "who"....Jeff Webb. In case anyone is wondering what i'm getting at......the Chiefs have no wide receivers. PERIOD. They need a big time play-maker and it's time to get the finally mortal and aging Tony Gonzalez some help. Again, they hav other needs such as the line, Saftey position, could use another DE or DT, etc. but I think you have to go play maker here and that's what he is. Crabtree starts instantly, becomes a fan favorite, a SportsCenter favorite and gives Chiefs fans something to cheer about again.
