When Cody Rhodes brought this incarnation of the Intercontinental Championship back at Hell in a Cell last year, he did something I was calling for years.
This belt is one of the best-looking ever. Period.
When a wrestler carried this belt, he automatically looked important.
The one that Rhodes got rid of was a huge step down from this one. It was more of an oval shape, which didn't look good and made the belt smaller, almost making it less significant.
When this belt was active during the 1980s-90s, it was known as the "workhorse title". Only the best in-ring performers held this title and it was used to move someone up to the WWE title.
There's no wonder why Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart, Mr. Perfect, "Macho Man" Randy Savage, "Ravishing" Rick Rude, Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat, Rowdy Roddy Piper, Razor Ramon and a slew of other great workers held this title.
