The NHL trade deadline had the makings of one of the best deadline days in history. But what really happened were a number of moves with no marque players finding new homes.
There were 18 total moves made on the last day in the NHL’s calendar year when teams are able to move players between teams. But following are the five worst moves of the day.
There is a team on this list that could have made a huge splash, but instead opted to land a big enforcer. Then, there is a player who only played 11 games this year and amassed two measly points.
At the deadline, there was an aging player who will try to make his last run at a Stanley Cup Championship.
And finally, there was one team that made the biggest move. However, they will soon find out that the moves they made will more than likely hurt their team, not help them.
These are the five players who will turn out to be a bigger flop than success as their teams head into the playoffs.
