Dear Mr. Ford: Please Hire Mike Shanahan!

Many of you may think I am crazy for suggesting a legendary coach like Mike Shanahan might join a club which just set the record for being the best of the worst in the history of the NFL. Hear me out.

First off, Shanahan has the authority to keep a team out of trouble on and off the field. During his run in Denver (1995-2008), the only minor issue was the Todd Sauerbrun ephedra suspension.  With his drill instructor type mentality he would keep the young Lions squad in order and keep their focus on the game.

Secondly, He can and will win games.  He took the Broncos in his first season from 7-9 in 1994 to 8-8 in 1995.  In 1996 his troops went 13-3, won the AFC West, but lost to the Jaguars in the AFC divisional game.

His legacy was sealed in 1997 and 1998 in winning back to back Super Bowls.

So if he were to go to Detroit and roam the home sideline in Ford Field, Shanahan would have the knowledge of what it takes to win a Super Bowl.

This is my official note to William Clay Ford to put as much money down on Shanahan as he can to get a winner in Detroit.
