Jason Varitek: Longtime Boston Red Sox Captain to Retire

The Boston Red Sox say goodbye to one of their most integral players of the past decade. Jason Varitek has been the consummate leader for a proud organization, and he will now retire in the uniform he wore proudly. 

Peter Abraham of The Boston Globe reports the two-time World Series Champion and All-Star backstop will announce his retirement on Thursday in Fort Myers.
