The Cleveland Browns have re-signed inside linebacker D'Qwell Jackson to a multi-year deal, according to ESPN. Re-signing Jackson was a major priority for the Browns this offseason, and his return is a huge plus.
Jackson is coming off of a huge season, playing in all 16 games as well as leading the AFC in tackles with 158 and finishing second in the NFL. He also chipped in 3.5 sacks, an interception and a forced fumble. Jackson also received votes for the Comeback Player of the Year award, after he missed games in the previous two seasons.
The Browns' ability to lock up Jackson long-term is a major plus and was definitely necessary considering the lack of talent on the Browns defense.
