NFL Playoffs: My Picks for the 2008 Divisional Round

Boris GodzinevskiCorrespondent IIJanuary 7, 2009

So, last week I was only 1-4 with my picks for the first round of the NFL Playoffs.

My apologies, so I'll make my outlines short.

Ravens over Titans

The punishment Baltimore landed on the Dolphins last weekend was brutal. The wounds inflicted bled until the last second of the game clock ran out. The Titans are the No. 1 overall seed in the NFL, which is not good by historical analysis. Another problem is that they've been resting down the stretch and the BYE. Ravens win.

Steelers over Chargers

The Chargers are a week-by-week team. They may die, or they may continue to breathe. I would love to go for the underdog, but the Steelers are just too good in my mind. Big Ben will be ready and I can't see Sproles running San Diego past them. Chargers win.

Giants over Eagles

No Burress? No Strahan? No Umenyiora? No problem! This team will not lose to the iffy Eagles, who rely on Westbrook. If he goes down, Philadelphia is doomed. Giants win.

Cardinals over Panthers

This is a biased pick. I'm going with my man Kurt Warner. I'm going with the only team I picked right last week and I'm going with the biggest longshot here, even though I already have money on the Panthers winning the Super Bowl. I truly hope the Cards win it! Go Warner!
