FC Barcelona is facing Club Atletico Madrid at the Vicente Caldeon Stadium in Madrid. It is not expected to be easy for La Blaugrana in spite of the La Liga tables.

According to the ESPN Soccernet La Liga tables, FC Barcelona remains in second place with 51 points. Atletico Madrid is in eiighth place with 32 points.

The problem lies in the fear that the lessons from the victory against Valencia may be forgotten. The person to watch in Atletico Madrid is striker Radamel Falcao.

Falcao has demonstrated his power in the match between Lazio and Ateltico Madrid. The two goals of Falcao gave Atletico Madrid a boost and was instrumental in giving the team a 3-1 lead over Lazio.

If Falcao can be neutralized with the 4-3-3 position, it will help La Blaugrana obtain a victory. The other half of the road map to victory is to strengthen the defense and offense so as to keep Atletico Madrid surprised.

The rest of the battle is psychological with La Blaugrana treating this match as a very important one. There are times when Barca plays its best in the Copa Del Rey and the UEFA Champions League, but allows itself to be lax in other matches.

The exception was the match against Valencia. It remains to be seen what will transpire.
