The most overrated player this side of the Mississippi is going to need some divine intervention if he's going to succeed in the NFL. Matthew Stafford has the strong arm and the mobility; but that's it.
He doesn't offer intangibles. He doesn't bring the "star" potential like Tim Tebow. And he doesn't bring the attitude needed to help build a bad NFL team. Remember this? Of course it's just a typical college student acting like an idiot. But how do you trust a guy when he's been given millions?
Stafford will, undoubtedly, go in the first round of the draft in April. But as we've seen with a lot of top-flight college quarterbacks, such as Andre Ware, having all the physical tools doesn't equate success. And it won't for Stafford.
