TNA News: X Division Champion Comments on Sting and His Own Push

Bleacher ReportAnalyst IFebruary 23, 2012

TNA X Division Champion Austin Aries is known for speaking his mind, whether he's in the ring cutting a promo or outside of the ring. Aries never pulls any punches when it comes to the product of IMPACT Wrestling.

Over the last few years, the X Division has taken a back seat ever since Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff came to the company in 2009. Aries had some interesting comments regarding Sting and his “I'm Done” tweet that he posted last week.

Aries fired back on his official twitter account with the following;

Austin Healy Aries ‏ @austinaries

I guess "I'm done" is code for "I'm booking myself in another PPV main event". Yet the X-Division champ can't sniff a main event... #Shocker

Aries returned to TNA in June 2011 and at the July pay-per-view, Destination X, defeated Zema Ion, Jack Evans and Low-Ki to secure a full-time contract with TNA.

Aries was employed with the company from 2005 to 2007 when TNA was aligned with the NWA. Aries captured the TNA X-Division Title from Brian Kendrick at the September pay-per-view, No Surrender.

Either Aries is legitimately angry about not being booked well in TNA, despite being X-Division Champion, or he's staying in character to draw some more heat from fans of Sting and TNA in general.

If his frustration is legitimate, then he might have to do some serious explaining to the TNA upper echelon and TNA president Dixie Carter.
