While a group of talented quarterbacks led by Andrew Luck and Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III are departing the college ranks, there are still a bevy of talented signal-callers who will be airing it out on Saturdays this fall.

Similar to Pac-12 predecessors Jake Locker and Luck, USC’s Matt Barkley spurned the NFL for his senior season, and he enters as the favorite to take home this season’s stiff-armed statue.

A trio of dual-threat quarterbacks are poised to take their respective teams to new levels.

After leading Michigan to its first BCS bowl victory since Tom Brady was under center in Ann Arbor, Denard Robinson will try to propel the Wolverines to their first Big Ten title since 2004.

West Virginia is set to embark on its maiden voyage into the Big 12, and they will do so with reigning Orange Bowl MVP Geno Smith armed and ready for a title run.

Meanwhile, rising Louisville sophomore gunslinger Teddy Bridgewater has the Cardinals primed to occupy the Mountaineers' old seat atop the Big East.

The final piece to the MVP puzzle is filled by college football’s most dynamic playmaker, Clemson wideout Sammy Watkins.

All of these players are invaluable to their respective schools and capable of taking their teams to new heights in 2012.
