If you haven’t seen or heard enough about the epic showdown between John Cena and the Rock at WrestleMania, you will get a get a special hour devoted to the match on the Monday before the big show on April 1.
In anticipation of John Cena vs. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson at WWE WrestleMania 28, the USA Network currently has a one-hour special scheduled for March 26th at 8:00 PM before WWE Monday Night Raw.
Even though I’m looking forward to the match between Cena and Rock at WrestleMania, the WWE has really gotten to the point of overkill with all the talk about the proclaimed biggest match in the history of the company’s premier event this April.
While it’ll probably get great ratings for the WWE, the idea of airing a one-hour special for the match seems unnecessary to me after a year of buildup for the match signing the night after WrestleMania 27 last year.
During the past two pay-per-view events, the Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber, the WWE showed videos during those events about The Rock and/or John Cena in addition to doing the same thing on Raw and Smackdown.
While I’ll certainly watch the finally episode of Raw SuperShow before WrestleMania, I won’t clear my schedule to watch the special on The Rock and John Cena as I don’t need to see the same thing for the 100th time in the past year.
So Bleachers, do you feel the WWE is almost over-pushing the Rock-Cena match with the one-hour special before the last Raw SuperShow until WrestleMania?
