Michael Turner and his agent are currently in discussions with Phil Brown and Paul Duffen about increasing his current contract until 2012. The pivotal central defender  enjoys various plaudits this season for his stellar performances for the Tigers, even joining the discussions as a future England centre back.

The renewed contract would allegedly double his wage to around £20,000 per week and bring him into line with the clubs other top earners Marlon King and Geovanni.

Brown said, "I'm not jumping the gun on a deal but we are sitting down with Turner's agent. Talks are advanced and we're hopeful of a deal."

Turner has been the topic of speculation in moves to both Manchester City and Liverpool, but Hull City's management team have slapped a £10,000,000 price tag on the influential player.
