Talk about a story with legs.

Bud Selig, in an extended round of negotiating that showed how carefully he balances the conflicting interests of his 30 franchises, facilitated a resolution to the ongoing tiff between the Cubs and Red Sox over the value of a 38-year-old general manager with two World Series rings. Except we still don't know all the parties involved.
