Despite lack lustre performances in his last two games, Jaroslav Halak is expected to get his third straight start Wednesday night, when the Montreal Canadiens travel to New York to face the Rangers.
The Canadiens No. 1 goalie, Carey Price, is still listed as day-to-day. However, he has spent little time on the ice in practice since it was revealed that he has a lower-body injury.
The Canadiens captain, Saku Koivu, skated this morning at the team's practice facility in Brassard, and joined his teammates briefly before the team's full practice began.
He is expected to join the Canadiens in Thursday mornings skate before their game with the Toronto Maple Leafs, practice Friday, and return to active play on Saturday at home against the Washington Capitals.

I am hoping to see Denis start sometime soon especially because if ever we trade Halak, the duties of the back-up goaltender fall on his shoulders. And for a goalie who hasn't played in the NHL for more than a years, it is important see his skills and test him out. So, I'm hoping he'll get to start against the leafs.
Halak is looking to rebound from two tough starts. I've been reminding myself about Dustin Tokarski, the Team Canada goaltender at the World Juniors. He had a pretty rough two games as well. I nthe semi-final against Russia, he let them come back 4 times and allowed 5 goals. However, after winning that shootout, he carried the same play over to the final against Sweden. I really hope that Halak bring his play right from where he left at the shootout against the Panthers and has a solid game.

I agree!
Denis should have a little experience playing games in the NHL. I have a feeling Halak will get traded, but him alone is not enough.Expect a player to be added to the deal and I have a feeling Gainey will surprise us with the player he'll add to the trade.
Nice read Kevin!

Kovalev isnt much of a leader as koivu is... and koivu isnt a greedy player such as kovalev is.. but all Russians play the same.

If he were not considered a leader, Carbo would not have given him the C and just stuck with three assistant captains in his absence.
and Koivu is from Finland :)
