According to a report by al.com, one of the top high school punters in America has committed to Auburn's 2013 recruiting class.
Harrison High School's Jimmy Hutchinson, who is ranked number one punter in the nation by Kohl Kicking Academy has decided to kick for the Tigers.
The Kennesaw native is the third member of Auburn's 2013 class, and the second from the state of Georgia.
“I’ve been down to Auburn twice in the last month, and this time it was just me rather than 40-50 other juniors running around,” Hutchinson recently stated in an interview with The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “I got to meet the coaches up close and personal, and spend some time with them."
The Tigers' current punter, Steven Clark will be wrapping up his career as a senior during Hutchinson's freshman year on the Plains.
“I decided to commit because everything feels right about Auburn. It’s close to home, I love the atmosphere, and I love the football tradition. I told coach [Chizik] that I was committing and he said I made his day," Said Hutchinson.
Jimmy's current high school coach, David Hines, additionally told the AJC that "the ball just explodes off his foot. He worked really hard on directional kicking and his accuracy this past season, and was outstanding. He’s a really good pickup for Auburn."
If the commitment holds through next year's signing day, this would be a good addition for the Tigers to help sure-up their special teams, and maintain a strong kicking game into the foreseeable future.
