Being a dirty player in the NHL today doesn’t mean that you fight every time you step on the ice.
To be considered a dirty player now, you are someone that either plays a reckless style or has a history of targeting another player’s head.
The five players on this list all have had previous run-ins with the NHL disciplinary board at some point in their careers.
For some of these players, they have a history of dirty play that has followed them since their days in junior hockey.
For others, they have made a name for themselves as dirty players from their actions this year.
