UT Basketball: Do Longhorns Still Have Hope?
For months, Texas has consistently declined opportunities to turn itself into an NCAA tournament team. But despite themselves, the Longhorns might still have a couple more chances anyway.
Monday’s loss to Baylor, in which they wasted a 12-point second-half lead and once again victimized themselves with poor late-game decision-making and multiple lapses in important situations, left the Longhorns 17-11 overall and 7-8 in the Big 12. A few years ago, a resume like UT’s would have been laughed out of the tournament selection committee room. This season, though, with a 68-team bracket to fill and a shortage of quality candidates, Rick Barnes’ team isn’t out of the running yet.
