Klitschko vs. Chisora Predictions: Past-His-Prime Champ Will Win Title Bout Easy

Patrick ClarkeFeb 18, 2012

There is absolutely no debate that WBC heavyweight champ Vitali Klitschko is beyond his prime at age 40 in a sport that favors fresh legs and endurance.

Still, that is not to say that the Ukrainian veteran will not pummel British challenger Dereck Chisora into an embarrassing defeat on Saturday night in Munich, Germany.

Klitschko has been the champ for four years now since taking down Samuel Peter in 2008 and has topped the past seven fighters who have challenged his belt over that span.

Meanwhile his opponent, a disrespectful 28-year-old who has dropped two of his last three fights overall after starting off his career 14-0, will be facing an uphill battle after slapping Klitschko during the weigh-in.

Staged or not, Chisora looks desperate for attention and hype in what will likely be his last significant bout as a heavyweight boxer with an underwhelming resume.

Klitschko has been on this stage time and again, having not lost a fight since he was defeated by Lennox Lewis back in 2003. Klitschko's impressive 43-2 career mark dwarfs Chisora's 15-2 record, not to mention the Ukrainian has 40 knockouts to his name compared to Chisora's 10.

All signs point to a dominant Klitschko victory on Saturday night, and given the shocking turn of events at Friday's weigh-in, a knockout is on the horizon.

Chisora's eighth-round knockout prediction is partially accurate, but it will more than likely be the Brit down for the count on the mat than the past-his-prime heavyweight champ Klitschko.

Talk is cheap, and Klitschko's body of work suggests that there is a 89 percent chance that he will win via knockout on Saturday night. He's won 40 of a total 45 fights that way.
