Liverpool, for all their spending, have sorely disappointed this season.

Many believed that the Reds could finish in the top four, and yet they currently find themselves sitting in seventh place—well off any Champions League spots.

Even owner John Henry has admitted that he overspent after he bought the Merseyside club, but the solution to Liverpool's problems might be to turnover yet more players after this season.

Knowing this, the rumor mill has not stopped churning out speculation about which players Liverpool will buy and sell.

Here are right of those deals that could get done during the summer.

Andy Carroll to Anywhere

Though Andy Carroll was bought with money obtained from the sale of Fernando Torres, most focus solely on the struggles of the latter.

In the year since, the ponytailed English striker has grossly underperformed for Liverpool, and has not been able to discover anything approaching the form he displayed for Newcastle before his high-profile transfer.

He is frequently left on the bench in favor of more dynamic options like Dirk Kuyt, Craig Bellamy or Luis Suarez when he is used as a central striker, and has not proved to be worth a price equal to that of Cesc Fabregas.

I admit that I am speculating here, but I would not be at all surprised if Liverpool cut their losses at the end of the season.

Shinji Kagawa

Shinji Kagawa has been one of Borussia Dortmund's best players this season, and his ability both out wide and in central midfield is stunning.

Thus, he has been mentioned as a possible transfer target for Liverpool as the nearly insane stockpiling of midfielders looks to continue at Anfield.

Kagawa insists, though, that he is perfectly content in Germany, and his reported £20 million price tag will likely put Liverpool off.

Luis Suarez to PSG or Palermo

Following a race woe with Patrice Evra that literally could not have been more publicized, Luis Suarez showed that he is a disgrace to Liverpool and its rich history.

For all his striking prowess and winning attitude, it might be necessary for the Reds to get rid of a player who has brought so much shame upon a reputable club.

Conveniently, there are reports emerging which link Suarez to nuveau-riche Paris Saint-Germain, and, in addition, the president of Palermo has stated that he would love to have the controversial Uruguayan on his team.

Stay tuned.

Leandro Damiao

It seems as if Internacional striker Leandro Damiao is linked with a transfer to Europe more often than any other young Brazilian with the possible exception of Neymar.

This week, CaughtOffside is linking the 22-year-old with Liverpool and Tottenham, and the website speculates that the two sides could compete for Damiao's signature.

If Liverpool sells one of Luis Suarez or Andy Carroll, this move will actually make some sense, as the Brazilian would be a great replacement for either player.

Mauricio Isla

The agent of Udinese right back Mauricio Isla, has confirmed that Liverpool are among the clubs who are tracking him.

Isla's agent also claims that big Italian clubs like Juventus and Roma are also in the mix, but that Liverpool have already made inquiries about his services.

Why Liverpool would spend tens of millions of pounds on a right back when they already have a very good player at that position in his prime—Glen Johnson—I have absolutely no idea.

Dieumerci Mbokani

Dieumerci Mbokani's name is nearly impossible to type, and even harder to pronounce. Yet, if reports are to be believed, Liverpudlians will have to learn fast.

Mbokani's agent is trumpeting the skills of his 26-year-old client, saying that he "is currently playing with tremendous confidence," and "is too good for the Belgian league and he knows it."

That is very assured language, and he will face a challenge to keep up his impressive goal-scoring record should he move to the Premier League during the summer.

Fabricio Coloccini

Givemefootball is reporting that Fabricio Coloccini's contract will expire at the end of next season, and that there is a real possibility of the Newcastle captain moving to Liverpool, despite Jonas Gutierrez's pleas for the Argentine to stay.

Coloccini is a pillar of stability at the center of the Magpies' defence, and is a very large reason why Newcastle have so exceeded expectations this season, finding themselves ahead of Liverpool in the table.

As the time-honored story goes, the Tynesiders will have to sell Coloccini instead of risking losing him on a free transfer.

If Liverpool can pull the move off, it will be a massive boon to a very shaky defence.

Javi Garcia

Javi Garcia of Benfica reportedly impressed Manchester United when he faced the Red Devils in the Champions League (back when they were still in it), and now other teams are catching on to Garcia's talent.

Garcia reportedly has a buyout clause of £25.1 million, and, although that price might put Liverpool off, a competition with hated rivals Manchester United and Manchester City for the player's services might just motivate the Reds a bit.

Lord knows that Liverpool already have enough midfielders, but there would be few better young talents from abroad to add to the center of the pitch than Javi Garcia.
