According to a tweet from the Philadelphia Flyers, they have acquired Dallas Stars defenseman Nicklas Grossman.

TRADE: have acquired (D) Nicklas Grossman from Dallas in exchange for a 2012 2nd rd pick(from LA) & 2013 3rd rd pick(from MIN).

Could this be the move we have all been waiting for?

Are the Philadelphia Flyers back in the driver's seat in the playoff race?

They have a long way to go, but one thing is for sure: A struggling blue line just got a lot better.

Grossman is a 6'4", 230-pound defenseman that brings a load of physical play and intensity to the table.

He has 96 hits and 100 blocked shots on the season in 52 games. This is a player that should fit in nicely on a depleted blue line, which has had to start rookies Marc-Andre Bourdon and Erik Gustafsson over the past month.

Hopefully, this is the piece that lights a spark to a Stanley Cup inferno.
