For the sixth straight year, ESPN has set up 50 games which are primarily between mid-major schools.
ESPN also included the two best small conference teams, Davidson and Winthrop, to square off in the first game of the weekend.
The idea behind BracketBusters was to add one final non-conference game for teams to build up their resumes with.
There are schools like Drake that need to win their game against Butler. Drake needs to prove that they can not only play with good teams, but that they can actually win. Drake at Butler is probably the most anticipated game of BracketBusters' weekend.
For mid-majors that have no chance at making the NCAA tournament, this weekend gives these schools the opportunity to play against a team they would not ordinarily play.
Part of the deal with BracketBusters is the visiting team hosts a regular season game between the same two teams the next season.
There are bound to be games with great endings, as ESPN tried to select matchups as even as possible. If you live in the vicinity of a mid-major school, check to see if they are hosting a BracketBuster. I know I will be attending Binghamton vs. Manhattan because Manhattan is my local mid-major.
