Zenit St. Petersburg trailed at the 20th minute on Wednesday against Benfica, but soared back, including when Sergei Semak made a dazzling goal in the 71st minute.

On the play of the match, two Zenit players touched the ball before Semak skipped it past the defense, ricocheting it off the left post.

The ball control on this play was impeccable, as it took two brilliant plays before Semak made his mark. Picking the ball off the bounce, Semak shot the ball with touch into the corner of the goal. It was precisely where he needed to put it, and he did so in a particularly tough position.

Semak's goal came after Zenit had tied the game up at one goal apiece. After Benfica answered Semak's goal, Ramon Shirokov put Zenit ahead for good in the 88th minute, ensuring the club kept a firm hold on the top position in the Russian Premier League.

Semak's goal was only his second of the season in 11 matches. While Alexander Kerzhakov and Danko Lazovic have scored a combined 26 goals, Semak hasn't been made a big impact overall for Zenit.

Well, Semak made a big goal for Zenit on Wednesday and it could have the 35-year-old receiving more playing time this season.
