With the 2011-12 Premier League now well into its second half, it’s time to take a look at the five biggest disappointments so far.

I could have included Mick McCarthy here, but he’s been sacked to save me the trouble. There’s also a case for Steve Kean, but you can’t really be a big disappointment unless there was expectancy in the first place.

I’ve gone for five high-profile individuals who represent some of the most powerful clubs in the league.

We start with (still) Manchester City’s Carlos Tevez, who’s spent more time playing golf than football this season.

Next up is Manchester United’s flapping stopper David de Gea, who, at times, has looked like a 12-year-old schoolboy under the high ball.

At three is the man given the impossible job of managing Chelsea; and following him, the pony-tailed striker who will probably never justify his enormous transfer fee.

Talking of enormous transfer fees, guess who’s at the top of the list.
