Facing a league rival that had won four of its last five games — including an upset of first-place Southern Miss three nights ago — Memphis hit six three-pointers in the game’s first 10 minutes, led 29-11 with eight minutes to play before halftime, and relegated the league’s preseason Player of the Year to bench duty in the second half.
