That is a simple statement that holds a great deal of weight with millions of people. This isn’t a Yankees bashing article, and we are not about to hate on the pinstripes just for the sake of doing so. New York pulled off some fine moves this offseason and may yet pull off another in unloading the behemoth contract of AJ Burnett.

No, this article is about where the American League favorites sit before pitchers and catchers report. There is going to be a great shuffle of talent that will occur shortly. I am sure these teams will go through the roller coaster that accompanies every team’s season.

However, as of right now—just a week away from balls being thrown—there are two teams better than the New York Yankees, and I will tell you why.
