It was a top-notch weekend for many American players in Europe, yet again.

Performances from Everton's duo of Landon Donovan and Tim Howard, Rangers' duo of Maurice Edu and Carlos Bocanegra and Fulham's Clint Dempsey led the way.

Even more surprisingly, Sochaux's Charlie Davies made a surprise return to the Ligue 1 team's lineup.

Here are the details.

Clint Dempsey

Dempsey continued his ridiculous goal-scoring hot streak hitting a cracker of a shot for a goal against Stoke in Fulham’s 2-1 win.

Although it will officially go down as an own goal because the shot smashed off the crossbar and into the back of the Stoke goalkeeper before going in, it was a beauty of a shot.

Landon Donovan and Tim Howard

Howard collected the shutout and Donovan collected yet another assist, as Everton beat Chelsea 2-0. Donovan’s assist came on Everton’s second goal in the 71st minute to help seal the victory.

Donovan’s assist comes at the 1:12 mark of the video.

Carlos Bocanegra and Maurice Edu

Both Bocanegra and Edu garnered assists in Rangers 4-1 win over Dunfermline in the Scottish Premier League.

Bocanegra’s assist came on a set piece, as he headed the ball back across goal.

Edu’s assist came as he drove into the box, drew out the Dunfermline keeper and was able to knock the ball back across the face of the goal to set-up an easy finish.

Welcome back, Charlie!

In his first appearance for Sochaux since returning from his loan to DC United, Davies came on as a substitute in the 78th minute.

If Davies can manage to regain his fitness and his form, it will give U.S. fans something to get excited about heading into the 2014 World Cup qualifying campaign, which begins this summer.
