After all the waiting, it turned out that blue-chip receiving prospect Stefon Diggs of Olney, Md., had made his college choice four days ago.
When Diggs finally announced his choice — Maryland — last night at a party/news conference in a sports bar a few blocks from the university’s campus in College Park, he said he had faxed in his signed national letter of intent earlier in the day. He chose the Terrapins over Ohio State, Florida and Auburn.
