GAINESVILLE – Florida missed out on the last recruit it hoped to add to its top-five recruiting class.
Olney (Md.) Our Lady of Good Counsel receiver Stefon Diggs committed to Maryland on Friday, picking the Terrapins over Auburn, Florida and Ohio State.
Diggs is one of the highest-rated players in the 2012 recruiting class, ranking as high as sixth overall nationally by Scout.com. He is one of several top prospects who had Florida among his finalists but ultimately opted to go elsewhere.
