UT Basketball: Longhorns in Dance Position
AUSTIN — After spending the bulk of the Big 12 season playing catch-up, the Texas Longhorns finally have put themselves in position to make the NCAA tournament. Now they just have to protect it.
With the tournament’s expansion to 68 teams having created a lackluster field of at-large candidates, the Longhorns’ current credentials are deceivingly solid. Their record (16-9 overall, 6-6 in the Big 12) obviously isn’t spectacular, but after their come-from-behind victory over Kansas State on Saturday, they’re No. 45 in the Ratings Percentage Index (RPI) and No. 23 in the Sagarin computer ratings.
