Kate Upton Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Cover: Blonde Bombshell Scores Cover

Those of you who've been waiting with bated breath to see which bikini-clad bombshell will grace the cover of the 2012 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue can finally resume your normal schedule of inhaling and exhaling.
The winner? 2011 SI Swimsuit Rookie of the Year Kate Upton. Judging by her cover, the 19-year-old Michiganian model is adjusting just fine to her meteoric rise through the ranks of popular eye candy.
It's no wonder Upton made the front gloss, seeing as how SI's beloved tradition of traipsing beautiful women through its pages could contain her only about as well as her red bikini could.
Quite an accomplishment, to be sure, considering Upton is still 16 months away from her first legal drink.
Truth be told, Upton's spot on the SI cover is the culmination of a whirlwind year that's seen her blow up the modeling world almost as forcefully as her body's blown up every piece of swimwear that she's worn on camera.
Since her ROY performance in the 2011 Swimsuit Issue, Upton has modeled for Victoria's Secret and Beach Bunny swimwear, been named "The Woman of the Summer" by Esquire, made cameo appearances on Tosh.0 and in Tower Heist, shown up at the MLB All-Star Game in Phoenix and was caught on camera doing "The Dougie" at a Los Angeles Clippers game.
No wonder Chris Paul was "okay" with coming to LA.
In any case, if Kate's cover is this scintillating, one can only imagine the kinds of photo-ops the inside pages will have in store for her.
Of course, you won't have to imagine for much longer—the 2012 Swimsuit Issue is set to hit newsstands on Valentine's Day.
How romantic.
