The NBA trading deadline is almost upon us and every single team could use some help. This slideshow is going to show the one player each team should go after.

Obviously every team would improve by acquiring LeBron James, but in the interest of realism these are all players that are available or would likely be available through a trade.

Each team is given the status of a "Championship Contender," "Playoff Team," "Up and Comer" or "Rebuilding Team." In addition, the team's need is listed.

The player to be acquired fulfills the teams needs based on their status and weakness.

Atlanta Hawks: J.R. Smith

Doug Pensinger/Getty Images

Status: Playoff Team

Needs: Bench Firepower

J.R. Smith fits the hole left when Jamal Crawford left Atlanta. His instant offense and fearless attitude can help Atlanta take some of the pressure off Joe Johnson to be the man every night.

Boston Celtics: Anderson Varejao

138508878_display_image
Mike Ehrmann/Getty Images

Status: Playoff Team

Needs: Rebounding Help

Anderson Varejao is the type of player Boston loves. He is a hard worker on the glass and defends with great intensity.

Glen Davis used to be the player to step in and take the tough charge and that's something Varejao does very well.

Charlotte Bobcats: Wilson Chandler

113235760_display_image
Dilip Vishwanat/Getty Images

Status: Rebuilding Team

Needs: Offense

Wilson Chandler has become a hot name because not only does he shoot well, but he is also a solid defender. Charlotte needs a player that can do a little bit of everything, similar to what they got from Gerald Wallace in the past.

Chicago Bulls: Gilbert Arenas

113511432_display_image
Kevin C. Cox/Getty Images

Status: Championship Contender

Needs: Point Guard Depth

Chicago has been going through quite the scare recently with the injured Derrick Rose missing time. Depth is always important and Gilbert Arenas can provide some experience at the position as well as the ability to handle the media.

Cleveland Cavaliers: DeMarcus Cousins

136123417_display_image
Ezra Shaw/Getty Images

Status: Up and Comer

Needs: Center Depth

While Anderson Varejao provides most of the interior defense, there isn't much else at the center position for the Cavs. DeMarcus Cousins is a young star who pounds the glass and plays with great passion and would benefit from veteran leadership from Varejao.

Dallas Mavericks: Tyson Chandler

138693368_display_image
Chris Chambers/Getty Images

Status: Playoff Team

Needs: Defensive Big

Dallas is missing Tyson Chandler right now. Rebounding, defense and energy are what the Mavericks were missing early in the year and those are the main qualities in Chandler.

Denver Nuggets: Luol Deng

Jonathan Daniel/Getty Images

Status: Championship Contender

Needs: Perimeter Defender

Luol Deng is one of the premier perimeter defenders in the game today and would pay huge dividends for the Nuggets. He would be difficult to pry from the Bulls, but he could be the piece that brings a NBA title to Denver.

Detroit Pistons: Evan Turner

136431664_display_image
Chris Graythen/Getty Images

Status: Rebuilding Team

Needs: Multi-faceted Talent

Evan Turner hasn't shown the offensive firepower he showed at Ohio State, but his defense has significantly improved and his decision making is getting better.

Detroit needs more two-way players and Turner is young and fits the bill.

Golden State Warriors: Marcus Camby

109880127_display_image
Mike Ehrmann/Getty Images

Status: Up and Comer

Needs: Veteran Defender

The Warriors under Mark Jackson were supposed to be a much-improved defensive team. As it turns out, they just don't have the personnel to make that happen.

David Lee needs help in the middle and since there's very few shots to go around, someone like Marcus Camby would be perfect.

Houston Rockets: Wilson Chandler

113173108_display_image
Doug Pensinger/Getty Images

Status: Up and Comer

Needs: Upgrade at SF

Wilson Chandler would be a tremendous upgrade over Chandler Parsons. Wilson is a better shooter, defender and is more athletic.

Parsons may have his day, but with shooting numbers like 42/38/30, he belongs on the bench.

Indiana Pacers: J.J. Redick

138468766_display_image
Sam Greenwood/Getty Images

Status: Playoff Team

Needs: Guard Depth

The Pacers have been a real surprise and a big reason is their defense. They only shoot 43 percent from the field and don't have a lot of guard depth. J.J. is a tremendous shooter and is used to coming off the bench for a defensive-minded team.

Los Angeles Clippers: Drew Gooden

137958894_display_image
Jonathan Daniel/Getty Images

Status: Playoff Team

Needs: Better Free-Throw-Shooting Big

The Clippers have a very exciting frontcourt with Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan. Problem is, they are both liabilities late in games because neither can make free throws. This problem became more glaring after clutch shooting Chauncey Billups was declared out for the year.

Coming off the bench, Gooden can rebound, is a decent defender and can shoot well for a big man.

Los Angeles Lakers: Ryan Anderson

138547659_display_image
Sam Greenwood/Getty Images

Status: Championship Contender

Needs: Three-Point Shooting

The Lakers are abysmal from the three-point line, shooting only 29 percent. With so much attention being given to Kobe, Gasol and Bynum, shooters can find space.

Anderson is one of the best in the league, shooting 42 percent while also pulling down 7.4 rebounds and shooting 85 percent from the free-throw line.

Memphis Grizzlies: Brandon Rush

136725969_display_image
Ezra Shaw/Getty Images

Status: Playoff Team

Needs: Three-Point Shooting

The Grizzlies rank dead last in threes made and attempted. Brandon Rush is the league's leading three-point shooter, making a gaudy 56 percent this year.

It's not an aberration for Rush either, as shown by his 42 percent career percentage.

Miami Heat: Joel Przybilla

109731703_display_image
Doug Pensinger/Getty Images

Status: Championship Contender

Needs: Toughness

Joel has been known over his career as a very good shot-blocker and as someone who protects his teammates. The Heat have been criticized for lacking toughness, especially in the paint, and Przybilla would help out without needing to be involved on offense.

Milwaukee Bucks: Omer Asik

138543087_display_image
Chris Graythen/Getty Images

Status: Rebuilding Team

Needs: Defensive Big

When Andrew Bogut plays, he is an excellent center. Unfortunately, he's had more than his share of serious injuries.

Omer Asik is a terrific defender, would likely come at a reasonable price and would fit well with the hard-nosed Scott Skiles.

Minnesota Timberwolves: O.J. Mayo

137293808_display_image
Chris Graythen/Getty Images

Status: Up and Comer

Needs: Quality SG

The Timberwolves have a strong nucleus in place but can't win with a hole at shooting guard. Mayo is a scorer who has no conscience and his desire to score would fit well with the pass-happy Ricky Rubio.

New Jersey Nets: Dwight Howard

138469338_display_image
Sam Greenwood/Getty Images

Status: Rebuilding Team

Needs: Face of the Franchise

The Nets are about to move into their new arena and are looking at the prospect of losing Deron Williams if they don't make a splash soon. Dwight has said he'd be happy playing in Brooklyn and is a perennial All-Star.

They need to sell tickets and win games; Dwight helps both of those causes.

New Orleans Hornets: Jeremy Lin

138911062_display_image
Chris Chambers/Getty Images

Status: Rebuilding Team

Needs: Offensive Firepower

Jeremy Lin is a hot name right now and is showing what he can do when given the freedom to run an offense. The Hornets are still waiting on Eric Gordon to be himself again.

If paired with Lin, they could give New Orleans a reason to cheer for years to come.

New York Knicks: Jose Calderon

136118049_display_image
Mike Lawrie/Getty Images

Status: Playoff Team

Needs: Ball Handling

The Knicks turn the ball over the second most in the league. Calderon has been an assist machine the last few years and the fact that he only turns the ball over 1.9 times per game makes him a good fit for the Knicks.

As an added bonus, Jose shoots 46/36/90 and can help the Knicks close out games from the line.

Oklahoma City Thunder: Kenyon Martin

138901737_display_image
Streeter Lecka/Getty Images

Status: Championship Contender

Needs: Rebounding Help

Nobody outside of Oklahoma City would guess that the Thunder's leading rebounder is Kevin Durant. Kevin needs to be free to concentrate on other aspects of the game and Kenyon Martin can provide that for him.

Martin is an edgy and aggressive player that brings experience and rebounding.

Orlando Magic: Marcin Gortat

138717995_display_image
Christian Petersen/Getty Images

Status: Playoff Team

Needs: Depth at Center

Gortat seems to be the one that got away from Orlando. With a new trade rumor sending Dwight Howard out of town every day, they need someone to take over at center.

Gortat has flourished in Phoenix and is one of the best pick-and-roll big men in the league. He rebounds well, stays out of foul trouble and blocks 1.7 shots per game.

Philadelphia 76ers: Michael Beasley

109796362_display_image
Rob Carr/Getty Images

Status: Championship Contender

Needs: Bench Scoring

The 76ers are a deep team that plays excellent defense. Beasley isn't the best defender, but surrounded by good defenders he would be fine.

Beasley is a talented offensive player and under the tutelage of Doug Collins he could stay focused and improve his defense.

Phoenix Suns: Kevin Martin

138718491_display_image
Christian Petersen/Getty Images

Status: Rebuilding Team

Needs: Consistent Scorer

Kevin Martin is a volume shooter who has put up numbers very consistently over the past few years. The Suns have too many inconsistent players who play out of necessity.

The Suns could give Martin the green light and allow him to score 25 a game.

Portland Trail Blazers: Steve Nash

138718175_display_image
Christian Petersen/Getty Images

Status: Playoff Team

Needs: Consistency at PG

Raymond Felton is having a terrible year and Jamal Crawford is much better when he doesn't have to run the offense. Nash would bring a calming influence to go along with his 56/45/87 shooting and help the Blazers make a run in the Western Conference.

Sacramento Kings: Jose Calderon

111329752_display_image
Doug Pensinger/Getty Images

Status: Rebuilding Team

Needs: Better PG Play

Tyreke Evans had an excellent rookie year but has fallen off considerably and plays more like a 2-guard. The Kings are the worst shooting team in the league who also have the least amount of assists.

Calderon helps in both of those spots and can also provide some mentoring to the young Kings squad.

San Antonio Spurs: Ryan Anderson

138547970_display_image
Sam Greenwood/Getty Images

Status: Playoff Team

Needs: Free-Throw-Shooting Big

Ryan Anderson fits the Spurs offense quite well. They take a lot of threes and with Parker driving and dishing or Duncan passing out of the post, Anderson would get plenty of good looks.

Anderson could also help out on the boards, where the Spurs are 22nd in offensive rebounding.

Toronto Raptors: Reggie Evans

86255915_display_image
Jim McIsaac/Getty Images

Status: Rebuilding Team

Needs: Dirty Work

The Raptors have been accused of being too soft and there is no better person to change that then Reggie Evans. The Raptors under Dwane Casey are trying to change their image to a more defensive club and have made strides, ranking 13th in points against at 93.7 allowed.

Evans does all the little things like taking charges, diving for loose balls and banging on the boards, which Casey would welcome with open arms.

Utah Jazz: Ray Allen

136965477_display_image
Elsa/Getty Images

Status: Playoff Team

Needs: Three-Point Shooting

Granted, the Celtics may not split up the big three just yet, but if they do, Utah is a great spot for Ray to go. Utah is in the bottom four in three-point attempts, makes and percentage.

Ray could mentor the younger players while helping this squad in the playoffs.

Washington Wizards: Grant Hill

136724441_display_image
Stephen Dunn/Getty Images

Status: Rebuilding Team

Needs: Veteran Presence

Grant Hill wouldn't help the Wizards get into the Eastern Conference playoffs, but he would bring some discipline and basketball IQ to a team that badly needs it.

The Wizards need to grow up and realize their potential and a veteran like Hill could educate them.

Thanks for Reading!

This was a very subjective list of players to target and I hope you've enjoyed it. Some teams would be better to stand pat and wait for free agency or the draft.

It will be interesting to see where the big names like Steve Nash and Dwight Howard end up when the deadline hits. Hopefully Mr. Stern doesn't step in and veto any more trades.
