UConn Names Warde J. Manuel New Athletic Director

Warde J. Manuel, who helped raise the profile of a 20-sport athletic program as the athletic director at the University of Buffalo the past six years, has been named to the same post at UConn, the school announced on Sunday.
He replaces Jeff Hathaway, who signed a separation agreement in August after falling into disfavor within the administration for several reasons. Paul Pendergast had been serving as interim athletic director since September.
