The Edmonton Oilers have re-signed Andy Sutton to a one-year contract extension, removing the veteran defenseman from the trade market.

A source told ESPN.com the deal is worth $1.5 million salary plus another $250,000 in games-played bonuses that are tied to the team making the playoffs next season.
