Real Madrid had little trouble avenging their early season loss to Levante with a 4-2 trouncing of Las Granotas at the Santiago Bernabeu on Sunday, behind yet another hat trick from the boot of Ronaldo—all three of which came over a short span between stoppage time at the end of the first half and the first seven minutes of the second.

The third effort, though—a curving rocket off of Ronaldo's right foot—was the most spectacular of all.

The treble pushed Ronaldo's total to 27 goals in La Liga play this season, moving him four clear of Lionel Messi's second-best 23 scores. More importantly, Ronaldo's effort help Los Blancos extend their lead atop the Spanish Primeira Division table to 10 points, with Real Madrid losing ground on account of a 3-2 loss to Osasuna on Saturday.

Next up, Real Madrid will welcome Racing Santander to Spain's capital before bolting to Russia to face CSKA Moscow in the knockout stage of the UEFA Champions League.

Expect Ronaldo to put on a lovely show for the Muscovites as well, if only to prove to the world that he is, indeed, the best there is on the pitch today.
