We are now a full week removed from the Super Bowl, and the free agency rumors in the 2012 NFL offseason have already begun spilling out.
What is the latest around the AFC East? We have you covered with all of the weekend's biggest news right here.
New England Patriots
Since 2001, Reggie Wayne ranks No. 1 among all receivers in yards. He also ranks third in receptions. Does he have anything left?

As we all know, though, wide receiver has been a hit-or-miss position for the Patriots, with far more misses than hits; that goes for veterans and younger players alike. Greg Bedard of The Boston Globe (Twitter: @GregABedard) has some insight with receivers coach Chad O'Shea. Bedard also shares thoughts on Devin McCourty, whom he believes will move back to cornerback next season.
On that note, Bleacher Report featured columnist Drew Bonifant (Twitter: @dbonifant) offers his thoughts on why the defense should be the No. 1 priority headed into the 2012 offseason.
Miami Dolphins
The Dolphins went 6-10 this year, but former quarterback Chad Pennington thinks they're not far from being an AFC contender, writes Brian Biggane of the Palm Beach Post. The 2011 season proved to be one of great balance in the AFC—no dominant team stood out. If that carries over into 2012, Pennington may be right.
Putting Cameron Wake on the edge of a 4-3 defense would allow him to lay more vicious hits on quarterbacks...like this one.

Buffalo Bills
The Dolphins aren't the only team entertaining the thought of a defensive switch; in fact, the Bills have already openly stated their intent to do so. B/R contributor Josh Cembellin has winners and losers in the switch.
Andre Reed spent much of his career taking big hits on receptions over the middle. Now, he's taken five big hits in the past five years, snubbed for the Hall of Fame each year.

New York Jets
Mark Sanchez deserves one more shot. If his sloppy play continues, though, that may be all he gets.

Meanwhile, ESPN New York's Rich Cimini (Twitter: @RichCimini) points out that the Jets have some serious salary cap issues that would prevent them from making such a move in the first place.
