Carry-over Cash, Cap Space Give Some NFL Teams Money to Spend

Sometimes it pays to be thrifty.

That certainly appears to be the case for the Miami Dolphins and a number of NFL teams heading into 2012.

The Dolphins have a $9 million salary cap surplus from 2011, money that could be carried over next season if it's not used to re-sign free agents or players approaching free agency like Cameron Wake, who will be paid $740,000 against the salary cap.
