Will Diggs make his decision or won't he?

It was expected that we would make his decision on Feb 10, but now there are reports that we really don't know what his plans are.

Diggs is one of the top athletes in this year's recruiting class. His 6'0", 185-pound frame isn't exactly the biggest in the world, but the kid can flat out fly. He's a playmaker on the football field and a threat to take it the distance every time the ball is in his hands. He's a receiver who can stretch the field for you and even provide a spark on special teams as well.

Hopefully we get a decision soon as we are patiently waiting to see which team he will bless with his talents. Until then, let's break down the four teams he's considering.

Auburn

Diggs made his official visit with the Tigers back in the middle of January. He described it as one of his best visits and Auburn is seriously in the running for his services.

“Overall, it was probably my best visit, both unofficially and officially,” he said. “It is a family. It felt at home.”

If Diggs was to choose Auburn, he'd be able to start right away and would get to play for a young team that is heading in the right direction. He'd also get to play for the SEC, which playing against the top competition college football has to offer is a plus.

Being close to wide receivers coach Trooper Taylor may be what seals the deal for the Tigers.

That is my man. I am going to call him ‘Pops’ from now on because that is a good guy, somebody I can build a relationship with. We are really making progress. If I chose Auburn I wouldn’t mind playing for him. He is a great coach and he is coaching a great group of guys.

Florida

Diggs visited with the Florida Gators on Jan 20 and they have appeared to be the front-runners for majority of this race. The only time Florida fell of the wagon a bit was when offensive coordinator Charlie Weis left to become the head coach at Kansas. But the recent hire of Brent Pease makes them contenders once again as he did fabulous work with Boise State.

The Gators have done a great job with recruiting this year and adding Diggs would just be the cherry on top of the sundae. If there's any advantage the Gators may have, it's that his mother may prefer this school over any other school he's considering.

Can you really say no to mom?

Ohio State

The Ohio State Buckeyes really came out of left field and began recruiting Diggs once they hired head coach Urban Meyer. They are at a disadvantage because they haven't been recruiting him as long as these other schools, but if there's any guy that can pull it off, it's Meyer.

Ohio State offers him an elite program, with an elite head coach and a team that's absolutely loaded on both sides of the ball. He'd get to play in the spread offense that has made several players careers and his statistics could go through the roof with Meyer. There hasn't been a lot of talk about the Buckeyes lately, but don't count this team out of the running at all.

Maryland

The dark horse in this whole race may have actually pulled it off. The Washington Post claims that the speedster will in fact become a Maryland Terrapin.

This of course is the home school as Diggs lives less than a 30 minute car ride away from the campus. He'd get to play for a great head coach in Randy Edsall, a conference that is greatly improving in the ACC and would become the face of a program. It would instantly become his team as it's really not a team that has much incredible talent.

We saw a wide receiver in Dorial Green-Beckham turn down big offers to stay home. Could we possibly see another one do the same?
