Former LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson pleaded innocent Thursday to a charge of simple battery from his involvement in an Aug. 19 fight in the parking lot of an off campus bar.

Jefferson's attorney Lance Unglesby entered the plea on his client's behalf at the arraignment. Jefferson was not present for the proceeding. An East Baton Rouge grand jury indicted Jefferson September 28 on the charge after reducing it from felony second degree battery.
