Frustrated by his team’s performance against Indiana, Matt Painter opened some eyes during practice on Sunday and Monday.

He benched seniors Lewis Jackson and Ryne Smith to start the game, and replaced Terone Johnson with redshirt freshman Anothing Johnson. Juniors Kelsey Barlow and DJ Byrd, respectively, started in place of Jackson and Smith and helped Purdue regain the consistency and effort that had been lacking most of the past four weeks.
