WrestleMania 28: HHH vs Undertaker III, No Thank You
WrestleMania 28 is shaping up to be a solid card from top to bottom. One match I don't need to see again is HHH vs. Undertaker. Not to take anything away from these performers, but we've seen them in the spotlight and what else could they do?
The first match saw Undertaker beat HHH pretty cleanly whereas the second match saw Undertaker win but HHH left him "unable to leave the ring under his own power." There's only one logical finish: HHH wins and ends Undertaker's streak at WrestleMania.
Who wants that? Aside from stroking HHH's ego and further cementing himself as bigger than anyone in the company, it does neither performer any good. Undertaker is legendary and has one of the only "meaningful" records left. HHH is already a Hall of Famer and would certainly turn more fans against him on a personal level if he were to end the streak.
Shawn Michaels will be appearing on Raw this Monday to address the situation. While I am interested in what he has to say, I think he would fit and bring much more to the CM Punk/Chris Jericho storyline.
I understand the detractors who grew up in the 90s and remember all of the DX stuff who want to see HHH continue in the ring. I understand those who point out that statistics and records in predetermined matches mean nothing. What I don't understand is how it would be good for business. The card is already solid. The PPV buys and ticket sales will be tremendous.
If you're ever going to listen to me, WWE, please leave HHH vs. Undertaker alone. Put Shawn in the CM Punk/Jericho storyline. And lastly, if you have to end Undertaker's streak, let someone do it who would truly benefit from the big push.
Who should eventually end Undertaker's streak?
