5 Wackiest World Football Managers of All Time

Will TideySenior Manager, GlobalJuly 21, 2016

Football management, as we know, is far from an exact science. Success comes in a huge variety of guises, and you only have to appreciate the differences between Sir Alex Ferguson and Jose Mourinho to find evidence.

This list is designed to highlight the characters whose personalities left a mark along with the success of their teams.

We start with Malcolm Allison, a man whose name is rarely written without the word "flamboyant" beside it.

You could say the same about Diego Maradona, who brought about a revolution as a player just as Helenio Herrera did as a manager.

The final two spots on my countdown are saved for Jose Mourinho, arguably the biggest personality in football right now, and Brian Clough—the biggest there perhaps ever was.
