The Georgetown Hoyas and Syracuse Orange will meet on Wednesday night in what could be one final meeting at the vaunted Carrier Dome.

Uncertainty plagues this otherwise epic rivalry. Syracuse will leave to the ACC, ripping the regularity with which these teams away.

A long and storied rivalry will get one more look in Syracuse. It may be the last, so it's time to savor it to the fullest.

Let's dive deeper into what should be an emotionally-charged game.

What's At Stake?: Syracuse will try to maintain control of their No. 2 spot heading into the all-important part of the season. It's all about one of the prime No. 1 seeds in the tournament we are all bound to miss some work for.

After that, this will be one of a few games that these teams will share before Syracuse goes to the ACC. A storied rivalry is on the endangered list.

What They're Saying:

Nicole Auerbach of USA Today writes on the surprising upstart Hoyas:

"It's almost hidden. This afternoon, it's beneath a white dress shirt and a navy blue argyle sweater. But when Georgetown men's basketball coach John Thompson III reaches to turn on the air conditioner on an unusually warm winter day, a blue rubber bracelet peeks out of his sleeve..."

Andy Katz, writing for ESPN, reports on the possible last game of this rivalry at the Carrier Dome:

"Syracuse's pending departure to the ACC hasn't led to the same sort of bitterness among conference brethren, most notably with the school's key rival over the past 25 years, the Georgetown Hoyas. This is not Kansas-Missouri. No one is overly cranky. The ACC offered more stable ground for the Orange and, for the most part, that was that..."

Most Important Player to Watch: It's all about Fab Melo tonight. The 7-foot sophomore center is back in time to mix it up with the Georgetown rivals. He had missed three prior games due to academic reasons. The Hoyas will have to take down an Orange team at full strength.

Key Matchup: Georgetown will have to face one of the best zone defenses in basketball. The Hoyas will now have to manage the paint with Fab Melo lurking in there. The Hoyas will need fantastic perimeter play to get the upset.

Prediction: Syracuse 82, Georgetown 76
