Kevin Love missing the next two Timberwolves games due to his suspension for stomping on Luis Scola isn't a big deal in the grand scheme of things.  However, it will put the spotlight on Michael Beasley.  Ricky Rubio will still be running the show, but this is a spot where Beasley can show not only the Wolves, but other teams what he can do when given the opportunity.

I have not been Beasley's greatest supporter.  I've questioned his defensive ability and effort, I've wondered if he would pout about being a sixth man and I've been worried he will get into trouble again off the court.  I haven't exactly been proven wrong.

In Michael's last three games (57 minutes played), he has a total of 27 points, 11 rebounds, three assists, one steal, seven fouls and four turnovers.  This is a far cry from the excellent games he had off the bench against the Lakers and Rockets, and it just adds to my worry about his performance.

With that said, I want Beasley to succeed.  I want him to succeed for himself and his confidence.  I want him to succeed for his fans and supporters.  I want him to succeed for his value to the Timberwolves and the rest of the NBA.  Tonight is his first opportunity to show everyone he shouldn't be overlooked.

The Wolves face the Sacramento Kings tonight, with Demarcus Cousins coming off two monster games: 21 points and 20 rebounds against Golden State, and 28 points with 19 rebounds last night against New Orleans, both Kings wins.  Cousins will be a load at the power forward position and if Beasley wants to show us something, he will shut him down.

Tonight's your night, Mr. Beasley, make the most of it.
