Jason RadowitzContributor IIIFebruary 6, 2012

The oldest brother of Amar'e Stoudemire, Hazell Stoudemire, passed away in an early morning car accident, according to a team spokesman who corresponded with ESPN New York. He was 35 years old.

Hazell was driving at a "high rate of speed" and hit the back of a tractor trailer at around 1:42 a.m. ET.

Amar'e is already on his way to Florida after hearing the news. He will not play in the Knicks' game tonight against the Utah Jazz.

Although there is not much news on this incident yet, we do know that Hazell was not wearing a seat belt. It is unknown whether alcohol was involved.
