2012 Super Bowl Halftime Show: NBC Apologizes for Airing MIA's Middle Finger
Spontaneous or not, MIA's decision to flip the world the bird during Super Bowl XLVI's halftime show is creating quite a stir and has left a bad mark on Madonna's halftime.
After Janet Jackson's wardrobe malfunction eight years ago, it's hard to believe that something like this could happen again.
While no body parts were accidentally exposed, a deliberate and obscene gesture has unnecessarily made a huge headache for NBC.
According to Philly.com, NBC spokesman Chris McCloskey had this to say in a statement: "We apologize for the inappropriate gesture that aired during halftime. It was a spontaneous gesture that our delay system caught late."
Oops.
In their defense, this was completely and 100 percent on MIA. She is officially the worst cameo performance in Super Bowl history and has made it necessary for various people to apologize to viewers who had to witness MIA flipping off America.
NBC apologized, but this nightmare is certainly not over for the network.
The delay system clearly isn't perfect, but blame for this blunder rests solely on the shoulders of a very selfish and immature MIA, who got caught up in the moment and jumped at the chance to steal the spotlight.
