It’s hard to pick overrated defenders, to be honest, but I think these guys get the nod because they are all higher profile guys who have really come up short this season. I know that you’ll have your own list of overrated defenders, so feel free to let me know what your top four or five is.

The truth is that I didn’t just want to look at guys who were supposed to be legendary. Instead, I went for guys who just sort of have a higher profile. I went for guys who have failed to live up to expectations. I wanted to avoid guys who either just had a bad season, or guys who have had a good season despite being underwhelming for most of their career.

Overrated is a very difficult word, but I think this list has a lot of truth to it. So go ahead, tell me I’m wrong. I’m ready for the debate.
