Worst Super Bowl Commercials 2012: Audi Misses Mark With Twilight Inspired Ad

If you don’t own a car created by Audi, you aren’t going to suddenly buy one after watching their Super Bowl commercial.
The Twlight inspired ad features a bunch of kids that look like they can’t afford an Audi, sitting around a fire looking young and fun.
Then two of them decide to climb up a tree because, apparently, that's a normal thing to do at a vampire party as the event rages on.
But once the suave-looking dude in the Audi pulls up, the party is over and the vampires begin to disintegrate one by one. By the time he gets out of his car, everyone has died because of his super bright lights attached to his Audi.
So essentially, Audi is advertising that they have super bright lights with their car. Now I’m no car expert, but isn’t the engine, gas mileage and steering just a wee bit more important than the brightness of your lights? Then again, you want to have the best possible lights in case a zombie is chasing after you.
I know they are going for humor with the way all of the vampires were fried, but c’mon. Why do they get fried by a LED headlight, yet are able to stand around an open fire? Wouldn’t that burn them, too?
It’s a goofy commercial that isn’t worth the almost $7 million they spent on it.
After the first quarter, it’s becoming the major story of the day: The commercials have not lived up to expectations.
Here’s to hoping Audi throws this one in the scrap heap.
