PGA Tour: Golf Boys Bubba Watson and Ben Crane Entertain in Phoenix

Half of the “Golf Boys,” Ben Crane and Bubba Watson, were in the same grouping at the Waste Management Phoenix Open on Saturday.
It was just too tempting for the two good ole boys not to expose their inner diva and perform for the raucous crowd at TPC Scottsdale.
Bubba was approached by Ben Crane in the locker room before Saturday’s third round and suggested that they put on a show for the 20,000-plus fans that ring the 16th hole in the coliseum-type setting.
Crane quickly donned his goggles and crash helmet that his caddy had been lugging around the golf course and Bubba, sans bib overalls, did a short rendition of their 2011 “Golf Boys” YouTube video.
Here is a video of their act on Saturday.
The bit of levity didn’t seem to affect their scoring, as both players are in the top five in the tournament. Bubba carded a 67 and is T-3 heading into the final round. Crane turned in a solid 68 and resides in a tie for fifth place.
I’m not too sure Ben Hogan would approve of the less than serious attitudes displayed by the “Golf Boys.” But for a feel-good event like the Waste Management Phoenix Open, irreverent and spontaneous acts of golfing absurdity seem to fit right in.
