Giants vs. Patriots: Eli Manning vs. Tom Brady Not About Revenge

Tom Brady vs. Eli Manning in the Super Bowl is nothing new. For those living under a rock, Manning and the Giants defeated Brady and the Patriots in the 2008 Super Bowl by a score of 17-14. Some media members have been playing up the revenge angle and how Brady wants to avenge his loss against Manning.
Let's not forget that the Patriots had the game seemingly won with about three minutes left after a Brady touchdown pass to Randy Moss. Manning then had to lead a tremendous drive where he avoided sure sacks and completed a ridiculous pass to David Tyree to extend the drive. The 12-play 83-yard drive culminated in a touchdown pass to Plaxico Burress in just 2:07.
Did Manning "beat" Brady? No. Manning beat the Patriots defense. There is no revenge to be considered between Brady and Manning. Brady already has a championship and isn't lamenting the 2008 loss as his only shot. If anything, the Patriots defense (which is largely different anyway) would have revenge on their mind.
This game is more about rivalry than revenge. New York against New England, two teams who have had a great amount of success over the past decade, is a much bigger story.
We should keep it in perspective. This is not a one-on-one sport. Manning and Brady never take the field at the same time and don't truly play against each other. Many of the key players from both teams are different and after four years the revenge factor is gone.
